Social networks and mobile devices: the perfect match

Posted by Carlos on 5th July 2011

Google recently launched Google+ to compete with other social networking services and tools. Industry reports state time spent on mobile applications has surpassed web browsing and Net Market Share reports that the iPad has 0.92% share of all browsing. According to TriadPS, 85% of Brazilians spend their time on social networks during working hours. Social networking is a growing market.

People are not only using social networks to connect, but also to share and discuss information within their professional and personal lives. The growing mobile device market has facilitated much of the social networking growth. By allowing for instant, on the go, sharing nothing delivers the social network better than a mobile device.

The infographic video made by Neolabels.com compares today’s digital life with the future. The data predicts social network revenues will grow more than four-fold from 2010 to 2015. In the same period, mobile devices will exceed the installed home PC base.

Companies need strategic partners to adapt to this rapid growth in mobile applications and social networking. Creating user friendly apps internally requires the combination of product developers, illustrators and marketers. Resources most companies don’t have in house right now. Additionally, it’s not enough. The app/website/program should be interesting enough so people will want to share it and engage with your company. Panarea Digital can help. We have turn key development solutions for your business. We create engaging technologies designed for mobile devices.

To illustrate this subject, check out this infographic. Made by Kiss Metrics, it shows some facts about social networks according to gender, income, age and education level.
